MEDIA AVAILABILITY: Coast Guard features new multi-mission boat

SAN PEDRO, Calif. — Members of the media are invited to attend a demonstration of Coast Guard Station Los Angeles-Long Beach's new 45-foot multi-mission response boat at 9 a.m., March 18, at the Coast Guard base on Terminal Island.

The 45-foot response boat is a sleek, jet-driven, high-endurance vessel designed to replace the aging 41-foot utility boats that are currently in service.  This event will allow members of the media to come aboard the boat at the dock, speak with station crewmembers, and observe a demonstration from the pier, providing a stable platform for video and photography.

The Coast Guard base is located at 1001 S. Seaside Ave., San Pedro, Calif., 90731. The media availibilty will begin at 9 a.m., and members of the media should arrive at approximately 8:45 a.m.
