Media ride along offered for Safe Boating Expo

OXNARD, Calif. - Members of the media are invited to tour Coast Guard Station Channel Islands Harbor and ride aboard the 87-foot patrol boat Blacktip in advance of the Annual Safe Boating Expo, May 6 at 9:45 a.m. The media event is part of the lead up to the Annual Safe Boating Expo that will take place on May 14 and National Safe Boating Week, May 21-27. During the May 6 event, the commanding officer of the small boat station and the office in charge of the cutter will be available for interviews regarding boating safety. A MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Los Angeles is also scheduled to conduct a flyover. The media availability will be from 9:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Station Channel Islands Harbor. The station is located at 4201 South Victoria Ave in Oxnard, Calif.
