MORRO BAY, Calif. - Global Diving & Salvage, Inc., engineers launched an underwater remotely operation vehicle from the vessel Nanuq about 6.5 miles off of Cambria, Calif., Oct. 12, 2011.

GDS technicians steered the ROV around the ship as Coast Guard, California Department of Fish and Game's Office of Spill Prevention and Response, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration technicians watched a live feed from the pilot house.

The initial scan showed no snag hazards or other issues that could impede the operations moving forward.
