Coast Guard Searches for Missing Plane

SAN PEDRO, Calif. - A Coast Guard rescue helicopter crew from Air Station Los Angeles is searching for three adults believed to be missing after they did not land their plane at John Wayne as expected earlier today as scheduled.

Mark Hogland, the pilot, was last seen leaving Catalina Island flying a Bonanza, tail number N66819, at around 4:50 p.m.  The two passengers have not been confirmed, and the plane was expected to arrive at John Wayne airport at 5:10 p.m.

The fiancé of the pilot reported the overdue aircraft to the Coast Guard at 10:30 p.m.  Coast Guard Sector Los Angles - Long Beach issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast and requested Air Station Los Angeles launch a helicopter to assist in the search.

If anyone has any information concerning the whereabouts of Mark Hogland and the two other passengers unknown at this time, please notify the Coast Guard at 310-521-3801.
