Coast Guard medically evacuates man from San Nicolas Island

SAN NICOLAS ISLAND, Calif.- The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 65-year-old man from San Nicolas Island early this morning.

The Coast Guard received the report around 1 a.m. of a man that was suffering from what was reported to be acute appendicitis. He was transported to Torrance Memorial Hospital in Torrance, Calif., in stable condition by a Coast Guard HH-65C Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Los Angeles.
