Coast Guard responds to grounded vessel

MORRO BAY, Calif. — U.S. Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles – Long Beach received a report of a 30-foot sailing vessel that ran aground a half mile south of Morro Bay with three people aboard at 9:41 a.m. Friday.

The three people who were aboard the vessel safely disembarked to land by foot. 

Coast Guard rescuers from Station Morro Bay and the local Harbor Patrol responded to the vessel. At high tide rescuers were able to re-float the vessel and return it to port. There was no environmental impact.
