Coast Guard responds to vessel allision with dock

PORT HUENEME, Calif. — The Coast Guard responded Friday morning to a report of a 653-foot, Swedish-flagged freighter that allided with a pier at Port Hueneme, Calif.

The allision caused framing and structural damage to the vessel Otello and damage to the pier.

Coast Guard Marine Safety Detachment Santa Barbara is investigating the incident and Coast Guard Station Channel Islands Harbor is providing support on the water during the investigation.
