Coast Guard Station Channel Islands conducts medevac off Oxnard coast
OXNARD, Calif. — The Coast Guard conducted a medevac Thursday of a man with chest pains aboard a fishing vessel located approximately 15 nautical miles west of Channel Islands Harbor, Calif.

At approximately 1:15 a.m. the fishing vessel contacted the Coast Guard on VHF Cannel 16 requesting a medevac stating that a 53-year-old man was in need of medical assistance after experiencing chest pains aboard the vessel.

An MH-65C Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles was dispatched to the area along with a 41-foot utility boat from Coast Guard Station Channel Islands.

The man was transferred to EMS waiting at Channel Islands Harbor and was transferred to St. John's Hospital in Oxnard, Calif.
