Coast Guard supports pupils' project in the ports

LOS ANGELES -- Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach hosted a group of students from Oak Park High School in Oak Park, Calif. Dec. 16, 2009 as part of a school project focusing on the relationship between commerce and the marine environment.

Lt. Cmdr. Christopher Boes, Incident Management Division Chief of Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach, spoke with the students about the operations of the ports and the Coast Guard's role in the safety and security of both the marine environment and the nation's maritime commerical interests.
