UPDATE: Coast Guard searches for boater in distress near Pt. Dume

PT. DUME, Calif. - The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for a boater approximately 30 miles west of Pt. Dume, Wednesday, after receiving a mayday call on Channel 16 off the Ventura and Los Angeles County coastal waters.

A Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles MH-65C Dolphin helicopter completed two searches that totaled 3 hours with no results. The searches had a combined 670 square mile area.
