Coast Guard, partner agencies to hold oil spill response open house

WHAT: A press conference and open house to talk about southern California's oil spill response plans and resources.

WHO: Representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard, California Department of Fish and Game and other government agencies.

WHERE: Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach, 1001 S. Seaside Ave, San Pedro, CA, 90731

WHEN: Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

WHY: Partnering agencies are hosting a joint press conference followed by an open house to talk about plans and resource capabilities for large scale oil spill responses in southern California.

EDITOR'S NOTE: For media interested in attending, please call Public Affairs at 310-521-4260. There will be brief introductions by the attendees, after which media are invited to talk with the representatives and take a look at the equipment used in an oil spill response.

 

DIRECTIONS:

1. Start out going SOUTH on I-110 S.

2. Merge onto CA-47 N toward VINCENT THOMAS BR/TERMINAL IS/LONG BEACH.

3. Take the FERRY ST exit.

4. Turn LEFT onto FERRY ST.

5. Turn RIGHT onto PILCHARD ST.

6. Turn LEFT onto EARLE ST.

7. Turn RIGHT onto TERMINAL WAY.

8. Stay STRAIGHT to go onto S SEASIDE AVE.

9. 1001 S SEASIDE AVE is on the RIGHT.
