LOS ANGELES – A Coast Guard crew from Air Station Los Angeles medically evacuated a woman in need of medical attention from Catalina Island, Calif., early Wednesday morning.
Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles/Long Beach received a call from Catalina Medical Center stating that a 43-year-old woman was experiencing possible appendicitis at 1:30 a.m.
A Coast Guard flight surgeon was consulted and concurred that a medevac was recommended.
An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew launched from Air Station Los Angeles and transported the woman to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center at 3:20 a.m.
